Memoirs of a Tall Tale Rogue

I keep bouncing around websites then come back to Homestuck like 5 times a day or more for updates or I feel like randomly watching a flash. I think I have a problem. Yargh

Yeah so, for any non-roleplaying shit. I’m using this account from now on — http://nivvyvasnivniv.tumblr.com/ . I’ll be attempting to understand this weird thing you people call “tumblr” which is as alien to me as dancing gracefully. Probably just going to post shitty short stories on there for practice or stuff.

((Sooo. I’ve decided to possibly consider attempting to write something  with this character again. Though he was originally meant to work in Morrowind’s setting/time period so I’m thinking I’m going to rewind and bring him back to tell a different story. If I ever… y’know. Friggin get around to it. Forgive me. Probably still gonna edit this a bit more later. @_@))

Asef Di’makiir

—Basic Profile—

  • Race: (Ashlander) Dunmer
  • Class: Rogue/Bard
  • Birth Sign: The Atronach
  • Skills: Swords/Daggers, Acrobatics/Athletics, Pickpocket, Stealth, Lock picking, Block/Parrying, Speechcraft, (some) Alchemy (Scary wise woman mother schooling drilled into brain). He can also play a mean phat lute.
  • Guild/Faction Affiliations: Thieves Guild association.
  • Preferred Weapon(s): Short Swords/Daggers.
  • Preferred Armor: Very light or none at all.
  • Religion/Gods: Traditional dunmer ancestral worship.
  • Nerevarine?: Pfft. No. Who do you think I’m “looking” for?
  • Reason for Coming to Morrowind? : I was born here you silly silly s’wit.

—Personality—

  • Speech Style: Early after leaving his tribe he’s somewhat quieter and reserved, nervous, and a bit hostile when he speaks. Ranges from mostly peppy, eccentric, and a bit purposefully over dramatic, rarely serious later on.
  • Sense of Humor? : Too much.
  • Temperament: Sly, charming, and a conman. Prefers to talk his way out of things and be sneaky, though isn’t afraid to play the stabby-your-face game if he must. However, he’s touchy about the subject of his people and can lose his cool quickly when it comes up in a negative way.
  • Orientation: Women. (Preferably scary ones who make him work for it; otherwise he won’t often take the relationship seriously.)
  • Physical Quirks: Ashlander tribal tattoos across most of his body and the occasional scar (not too many, he prefers –not- to get hit as much as possible). He’s usually wearing light clothing (See pic.) And always keeps a small bag on him that he seems almost obsessively clingy too. His hair is normally in a ponytail and his faced slightly scruffy. He likes to show off his tattoos. When it’s really cold he’ll probably wear a cloak.
  • Strengths: He’s an adaptive and open-minded person who usually tends to judge people after meeting them, rather than before (unless you’re a Nord, then he’s a bit… more hypocritical on that philosophy at times). He usually keeps a cool head under pressure and prefers more indirect methods to solving conflicts – whether it is through talking his way out of it, sleight of hand, or weird on-the-fly methods of sabotage. In combat he’s quick and tricky and likes to taunt his opponents, being incredibly annoying and frustrating. He prefers subtlety or unconventional methods rather than direct confrontation and is almost always prepared for an escape (i.e. hiding lockpicks -everywhere-, even going so far as to tape one or two onto his skin with a flesh colored patch on his wrist).
  • Flaws: He’s impulsive and reckless, sometimes preferring to act on the moment with an act-now-and-pray-it-works mindset causing him to get into trouble quite often (stealing from the wrong people, causing a ruckus from escapes, waking up in weird places after drinking, etc…). He’s a shameless flirt and tends to be a bit shallow and flighty with relationships. He has very little understanding of magic and can’t cast it naturally due to his inability to generic magicka naturally (atronach birthsign). He’s a complete and utter kleptomaniac coupled with hoarding stolen shiny items (even if other people find the item mundane or useless, i.e. Silverware, jars, candlesticks, books, sweet rolls, calipers, lettuce, etc). He has a irrational fear of mudcrabs, he claims one threatened to sue him for all he’s worth.
  • Morality (Chaotic Good): Despite being a thief and engaging in some questionable activities, he abides himself by a strict moral code. The rules being rather simple:
  1. Don’t be a horrible murderer of innocents, killing is the last resort. Occasionally there is an exception to this if someone is reaaaally, reaaallly begging for a face-stabbing, but even then he tries to resort to more unconventional humiliating methods besides outright murder. He’s a thief, not an assassin.
  2. Don’t steal from people who can’t spare the change to begin with. Stealing from the poor he finds is just in bad taste and not very profitable or satisfying to begin with.
  3. Don’t be a s’wit. Be a gentleman. Simple as that.
  4. Never sell out your friends/fellow kinsmen for profit.
  • Hobbies:
  1. Storytelling/Songs: This is something he learned to enjoy early as a child. His mother and tribe would often hold gatherings around the fire where tall tales and traditional oral histories filled with stories of past heroes like Nerevar Indoril. When he began to travel he picked up stories from different provinces and span his own experiences into tall tales to be told wherever he went, oohing and ahhing locals who would be happy to sit and listen.
  2. Stealing: He’s a kleptomaniac who enjoys the challenge and excitement of stealing something over just the value and coin the item could bring. He’s often attempted to steal things from high risk places that really wouldn’t be worth the effort to most. This loot is more than likely piled in a secure and secret place, not even fenced for coin.
  3. Gambling/Sleight of Hand: He can often be found gambling at inns and probably cheating or conning his way to coin.
  4. Flirting: Pick up line for errybody! Especially for other dunmer women.
  5. Drinking: Who doesn’t?
  6. Mischief: Nothing like hanging up a bed sheet above some mist and making creepy noises to scare off skittish guards or townsfolk. This also works on superstitious nords.
  7. Exploring/Traveling: He does it often, its a good way to gather new tales and keep things interesting, even if it does nearly get him killed more often than not.

—Opinions/Views—

  • View of Humans: Has a predisposition to disliking most Nords and viewing them as a bit stupid (Doesn’t help when there’s constantly naked Nords paralyzed on the road screaming about witches). He is also conflicted about Imperials due to the situation in Morrowind, however this is geared more towards the Imperial Legion and the Empire itself than all Imperials as a race. Otherwise, he doesn’t have much issue with any other human race.
  • View of Elves: He feels a deep responsibility and connection to his people, even though they can be extremely hard headed and close-minded. Not all of his Dunmer brethren tend to agree with his actions or views. He gets along well with most Bosmer, but the High Elves can annoy or amuse him.
  • View of Beast Folk: He likes them. They’re reasonable and nice people, perhaps even more so than many of his own people. He didn’t realize this until after he parted from his tribe and joined the thieves’ guild and worked with many Khajit and Argonians. He had originally grown up with a skewed belittling view of them (which resulted in many of his own beatings via racist remarks.)
  • View of Orcs: He’s a bit unsure of what to make of them at times. They are nomadic like his people, but act a bit like Nords. It all depends on the orc.
  • Views on Daedra Worship: He was raised believing Azura, Mephala, and Boethiah are the eldest ancestors of the dunmer. Historically they are remembered as the inspiration of independence amongst his people. Despite this, he is wary of most daedric princes for good reason; most of cultists he’s come across were either insane or murderous, the exception being Azura’s. His patron daedric prince would be Azura.
what's your family like?

Small. Close-knit.

Terrifying.

….

*Horrible flashbacks. Whimpers a little.*

are you in a relationship?
Anonymous

Not quite at the moment, but Nirn is ever changing beast and I never know what’s around the corner.

… And interestingly enough there you are. *Winks.*

There once was a roguishly handsome dunmer….

Were the coins worth it? They're always worth it.

And his name was:

It was decided he’d be shipped back to Morrowind for good behavior (or good connections, if you ask the right person). And that is where he met a strange impressionable red-headed Mer…..

He is also conflicted about Imperials due to the situation in Morrowind, however this is geared more towards the Imperial Legion than all Imperials.
